Our Beliefs

Mount Carmel Tabernacle is a non-denominational Church located in Dempseytown, Venango County. We are an evangelistic Church which holds the following tenets of belief:

  • The Bible is the Word of God and is supernaturally inspired by God and is inerrant as originally given and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
  • God is eternal, three persons in one, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • The deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless and perfect life, His atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection and His present dominion at the right hand of God the Father.
  • The new birth by the remission of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • The Holy Spirit, whose baptism unites believers into one body, the church of Jesus Christ, at the time of salvation; Whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a Godly life; Whose filling provides power for service; Whose gifts which are to be used to build up the body of Christ.
  • The evidence of the Holy Spirits baptism, indwelling, gifting, and filling is the fruit of the Spirit, which are: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control.
  • The gift of tongues. This is controversial, as a result, 1st Corinthians 14 gives certain restrictions for its use. Praying privately in tongues is acceptable with no interpretation. Speaking and praying publicly in the church with the gift of tongues must be interpreted so all can understand and be edified.
  • The eternal security of the believer in Jesus Christ but not in the doctrine of once saved, always saved.
  • The resurrection from the dead of both the saved and the unsaved; the saved to eternal life in Heaven and the unsaved to eternal damnation.
  • Jesus Christ will personally return to receive His church unto Himself.
  • The spiritual unity of believers in Jesus Christ who celebrate communion of the Lords supper, and the ordinance of water baptism.
